WordOn HD

How it works: You play with friends (or random opponents) in one of six languages. In the game you have your own board where you try to make the highest point words. Very simple, but WordOn HD adds a twist to make it tricky, since the letters in the WordOn fields must be used by your opponent in the next round. Anyone who sends a “Q” to an opponent and desperately needs an “E”, can see how WordOn HD is a fun and challenging game.

Besides all of the excitement of beating friends and strangers, WordOn HD is also a great learning game: You can select any of the six language versions and expand your vocabulary while playing. An ideal birthday gift, you might say, if it were not already free.

Play against friends and random opponents
Connect with Facebook to find your friends – or take on random opponents. Since the rounds are not very long, you can easily play several games simultaneously.

Many extras and features
If you want to tell your opponent a word in between rounds, or talk during the game, the in-game chat makes it all possible. Games you’ve played are stored in your history and the stats are tracked, so you can revisit your games later and see how you did.

Available in six languages
WordOn HD is available in English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and French. Anyone wanting to practice or learn another language can do it while playing the game. It doesn’t replace a formal language course, but it is a great way to practice.

Fair free to play
WordOn HD is available for free in the AppStore and via Google Play. It supports “in-app purchases”, where players can maximize their gameplay by purchasing small power-ups and enhancements through micro-transactions. Of course, the game can be played completely without ever having to spend money.
